Book: Proverbs 15
“Everyone enjoys a fitting reply; it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time!”
Wisdom is knowing both what to say and when to say it so that it brings good to all who it’s intended for. It’s like water being poured onto dry soil around a plant or like the finishing touch of the icing on the cake.
For wise words to be fitting, consideration needs to be given by the one speaking them ensuring that they will encourage those around them to do what is right and experience the source of wisdom, God.
I sometimes tremble when I realize the awesome responsibility that is given to me when individuals come for coaching or advice. Not only do I want my words to be those that God wants me to speak but I want them spoken in the way He wants and at the right time. I pray before each meeting asking God to speak through me. I ask Him, “Lord what gift do you have for them that you want me to give them?” I then step into the session trusting fully that the Lord will guide the conversation and provide the necessary wisdom. I want to be a conduit of God and His wisdom to those He has given me to serve. God’s wisdom, word and timing are always perfect.
God also wants you to be a conduit of His love through providing His wisdom to others at His perfect time. That means that you need to rely on Him, commit yourself to Him and be led by His guidance in every God ordained appointment. Sometimes we don’t realize that God has set up meetings with people so that we can distribute His wisdom to them. God is always wanting to give and is looking for those who will pass it on for Him. We were made to not only receive His love and wisdom but also be that conduit that delivers it to others at the perfect time.
Thank the Lord for being the source of all wisdom and for providing it at the perfect time. Then ask Him to help you be the conduit of perfect wisdom and timing to those around you.
