Book: Proverbs 8
“I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me”
God created us with the responsibility to seek Him out in our lives and not turn our back on Him. As we search out His Word, His Wisdom and His plan we are demonstrating our love for Him. King David lived this out and God said of him, “I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do” (Acts 13:22). Following God was so important to him that when he announced that his son Solomon would be his successor. David commissioned Solomon in front of hos leaders and said, “And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.” 1 Chronicles 28:9.
There have been times when I have gone looking for a specific object at stores and have come back empty handed. When we seek God, we will never come up empty handed. He will provide all we need.
Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
Just like King David, seeking God was not a one time event but rather a lifestyle. There were times that he had to keep asking and searching. In Matthew 7:7-8 we are encouraged to keep asking and seeking and not give up, “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Be encouraged today to keep seeking after God and not giving up. He will provide all that you need because He loves you!
