Book: Proverbs 7
“I saw naive young men, and one in particular who lacked common sense.”
There are two things that will get us into trouble and they are often combined: 1) Convinced we can handle sin (naive), 2) Void of understanding of sin (Lack of common sense). To top it off, hanging out with a group of people who have and encourage such an attitude is really a path of destruction. It is not the life of a Kingdom builder.
You have heard the saying, “You can’t soar like an eagle when you hang around with Turkeys”. The turkey’s destination is the dinner table but the eagle has a whole world to explore from the air. We need to choose wisely friends that will spur us on in the Kingdom and allow us to do the same for them. Choose friends that rely on God for their strength, wisdom and direction.
There are paths that can lead us away from the Kingdom. The best way to not be on those paths are by staying on the path that leads us in and to the Kingdom. That path is following God’s wisdom and walking in a personal relationship with Him.
Take time to consider who you hang out with. Are they Kingdom builders? Are you helping them be Kingdom builders? Choose today to not be “naive” or “lack common sense” but rather walk with God and in His wisdom!
